Ichigo Daifuku

Last month, I bought a ton of fresh tofu + another of fried tofu. As I had prepared a lot with this ingredient (tofu) and really had enough of it, I hadn't more ideas. That's why I decided to search on the internet for a recipe that a friend recommended me. That's how I found the Con dos palillos blog.

I made some of the dishes presented there and they were all delicious. Besides, you can find some fantastic explanations for starters. I recommend to have a look at the ingredient section: if you would love to know more about Japanese cooking, this blog gives a great introduction into this world.

When I saw the recipe for Ichigo Diafuku (small Japanese strawberry cake), I decided that I had to invite her on our blog this month. As I know for sure your dinner guests will really enjoy this recipe, it was fantastic that she accepted the invitation. Ichigo Diafuku is a typical Japanese sweet made with rice paste, filled with paste of sweet beans and strawberries. It really is a delight to the senses.

Thanks to the beautiful simplicity and the combination of the flavours, this cake is the ideal one to have together with your afternoon tea.
